MTA CEO Annoucement With Deadline for applications of June 6, 2025

Palmer, Alaska – May 1, 2025 – MTA, Alaska’s tech and telecom leader, has launched a nationwide search for its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO), following the announcement that current CEO Michael C. Burke will retire in September 2025. MTA’s Board of Directors has retained CarterBaldwin Executive Search to lead the recruitment process for this pivotal leadership role.

“Michael has been a tremendous leader for MTA and he leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of service to our members, staff and community,” said Ken Kincaid, Board Chief Governance Officer. “He has led MTA to be one of the most innovative and accomplished broadband companies in the country while also always placing focus on MTA’s most valuable asset, our people. Michael has worked closely with the Board to ensure MTA is in a solid financial position to maintain future success.”
