Stretching from Eagle River outside of Anchorage to Clear Air Force Station North of Denali National Park, the MTA Service Area lies in the heart of accessible Alaska adventure. Just 35 miles north of Anchorage, the Mat-Su Valley is the doorway to diverse and unique outdoor activities. The area is the best in the state for hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, camping, snow machining, glaciers and so much more. Eagle River, only 15 minutes from downtown Anchorage, is one of the gateways to mountainous Chugach State Park, an area known for its white water rafting, hiking and wildlife viewing. Our service area includes the entrance to Denali National Park, home of the highest peak in the nation. You’re also a short drive away from Palmer Hay Flats State Game Refuge, Hatcher Pass and the Nancy Lake State Recreation Area.
The Mat-Su Valley boasts some of the most affordable home prices in Alaska. You’ll get nearly twice as much for your dollar as what you can get in Anchorage with larger lot sizes and access to excellent schools. When you work in the Mat-Su, you also get to skip the commute, which means more time with your family, and less money on gas. Closer to Anchorage, Eagle River boasts a small town feel and has ranked in lists of the best places to live in Alaska.
Our service area boasts some of the best celebrations in the state including Talkeetna Winterfest, Colony Christmas Palmer, Willow Winter Carnival, Iditarod Trail Invitational and the Alaska State Fair. Eagle River also hosts the Bear Paw Festival in July, featuring the Slippery Salmon Olympics.
Whether you’re trying to get away from it all, or if you want to catch a Broadway show and hit the mall, everything is just a short drive away.
